Hi,
I put my installation live and have now about 200 people a day filling out my form and get and email sent with a PDF attached. I get error messages like “There was an error generating the PDF file. Your server wasn’t able to upload PDF file: read function returned funny value”
When I test my environment everything is working, but with customers I face this problem.
The PDF formula sent out is about 2.5MB, I now as a first step reduced quality to catch 650KB.
Any ideas why this can happen? – The final installation should have to handle min about 1000 PDFs per day.
adminKeymasterWe are looking into your issue, what is your order # so that we may monitor the account to determine the cause?
2.5MB is large and large files can cause a timeout error depending on internet and/or server traffic. If possible, make the PDF file smaller by;
1. Limiting the number of fonts
2. Embedding Fonts into the PDF (like this)
3. Optimizing images prior to adding to the PDF (More about optimizing PDF’s)NOTE: As a workaround you can also use the shortcode in the email body to provide the recipient with a link to download the PDF file anytime.
While we monitor your account, we are also willing to check your PDF file, if possible, email current PDF to support@formidablepro2pdf.com for further evaluation.
We remain at your service.
adminKeymasterDo you have a VPS server or is you installation on a shared server? If VPS, you can install PDFtk on your server, so that forms are generated on your side and not from our server.
If you do not have a VPS, please provide your order # so that we may monitor the account, and send the PDF file to support AT formidablepro2pdf DOT com for further evaluation.
