Pre-sales questions:
We intend to use the plugin to produce personalised documents for customers (via uploading of data into Formidable) and outputting the data to a view on the customer’s portal page. From there the customer can download the file.
– If somebody accesses the link to the pdf, is it protected such that it cannot be downloaded if the customer is not logged in?
– If this is not possible, is there a way to set the document password from a form field?
– Does your plugin work properly with security plugins that change the path to or rather hide wp-admin? I notice that the form download link is to wp-admin/…Also:
Is it possible to populate a link in a QR code in the pdf file from a form field?
Thanks.
adminKeymaster– If somebody accesses the link to the pdf, is it protected such that it cannot be downloaded if the customer is not logged in?
Not at this time – however, this may be something we can add. We are looking at the possibilities now and will reply again regarding this very soon.– If this is not possible, is there a way to set the document password from a form field?
YES – the function is demonstrated at the bottom of this demo form.– Does your plugin work properly with security plugins that change the path to or rather hide wp-admin? I notice that the form download link is to wp-admin/…
So far, yes, but we have not tested them all. Try the free version on your WP installation, if it does not work let us know and we will do our best to make it work.– Is it possible to populate a link in a QR code in the pdf file from a form field?
QR codes are created based on the data, are you asking if the plugin creates QR codes, if so the answer is no. Or, are you asking if the plugin can popluate a text box that crates a QR code in a PDF?- This reply was modified 8 years, 10 months ago by admin.
FrancGuestThanks for the quick reply. Security is very important so I look forward to a change in the functionality that will prevent downloading of a file in the browser. The password is a temporary workaround we could live with for now. Will test the security plugin and a URL rewrite as we don’t want to have this in publicly accessible links (we deliberately hide the backend from customers).
Re: the QR code, I am asking whether the plugin can populate a field that creates a QR code in a PDF. The QR code would contain a link to a page which in turn dynamically populates a form field to verify a document. I don’t think it will work and it’s not essential, but would be a nice thing to have if it were possible.
Thanks.
adminKeymasterIf the field that creates the QR code is an Adobe form field, then yes the plugin can merge data to the field. If you have an example PDF, email it to support AT formidablepro2pdf DOT com for confirmation of the plugin’s capability.
adminKeymasterUser/role level security will be released in the next update, which is expected to be available for download tomorrow. Thank you for your suggestion!

adminKeymasterUser and role access is now built into the plugin. Update the plugin from the WordPress plugin page to use the new feature.
The feature can be set from;
. Shortcode Parameter: shortcode parameter (role=”administrator” or user=”10″)
. Field Map Layout (two new options)
. Globally (new options in the setting tab)Priority is in the same order, first the shortcode, if no setting there, then defaults to the layout, and if no setting exists, then the plugin will use the global setting, which defaults to ALL if nothing is set.
To add multible users or roles, seperate each with a comma (i.e. role=”Editor”,”Administrators” and user=”10″,”11″,15″)
Again, thank you for your GREAT suggestion!
